Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  During the second plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2025" was reviewed.

It was noted that the Law on the State Budget for 2025 aims to improve the well-being of the population, reduce poverty, further enhance the quality of social services, develop a "green economy," and protect the environment. According to the Law, inflation in 2025 is projected to remain within 7% given the economic conditions.

The Law outlines the consolidated budget revenues for 2025, totaling 431.0 trillion soums, and expenditures of 480.5 trillion soums, with the goal of keeping the budget deficit under 3% of GDP in the medium term.

The State Budget’s revenues are set at 308.5 trillion soums, with expenditures totaling 344.8 trillion soums. Revenues and expenditures of state-targeted funds (excluding inter-budget transfers) are planned at 66.4 trillion soums and 62.8 trillion soums, respectively.

The Law also maintains a strong social focus, with 52% of the State Budget expenditures, or 177.7 trillion soums, allocated to the social sector.

During the discussion, senators placed particular emphasis on increasing budget revenues, ensuring targeted spending of budget funds, and shared their views on the matter.

The Law includes provisions for allocating 3.6 trillion soums for environmental protection measures, while 41.3 trillion soums is earmarked for healthcare, which represents a 19.8% increase compared to the expected execution in 2024.

Additionally, presidential decrees and government resolutions in 2025 will allocate funds to address pressing social issues in regions, improve infrastructure in neighborhoods, and implement state-level initiatives.

Senators highlighted that the Law addresses important matters such as expanding the budget’s revenue base, creating better living conditions for the population, reducing poverty, improving education, healthcare, neighborhood infrastructure, and promoting environmental preservation.

Following the discussions, the Law was approved by the senators.
