Senate approves several legislative acts
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Upper house of parliament of Uzbekistan considered several legislative acts during the second plenary session of the parliament. The documents are directed at deepening social-economic and judicial-legal reforms.

The Senators considered a draft law “On prevention of micronutrient deficiency among population”. The law was developed within the State Programme “The Year of Harmonically Developed Generation” and directed at preventing micronutrient deficiency among population and setting the state system on regulating this sector.

The law regulates order of enriching food products with micronutrients and envisages conducting preventive works among the most vulnerable layers of population, promotion of healthy nutrition, etc. The Senators approved the law.

Senate also discussed the law “On judicial expertise”, which is directed at regulating issues related to the institute of judicial expertise. After discussions, the law was approved. Senators also approved the law “On introduction of changes and amendments to some legislative acts of Uzbekistan in connection with the adoption of the law “On judicial expertise”. The law introduces changes and amendments to Procedural Criminal Code, Code of Administrative Responsibility, Code of Civil Procedure and Code of Economic Procedure of Uzbekistan.

The law “On introduction changes to articles 10 and 11 of the Law “On protection of citizens’ health”. The changes directed at banning individuals to conduct private medical activity.

The Senators said the law is directed at further improving reforms in healthcare system, import task of which is to strengthen legal guarantee for quality medical services for population. The Senate approved the law.

Considering the law “On archive business”, it was noted that the law will help to improve the system on collecting, storage and use of archive documents in accordance with the modern requirements and standards, as well as safe keeping unique documents. The law was approved.

Senators also approved the law “On introduction of changes and amendments to legislative acts of Uzbekistan”, which establishes criminal responsibility for infection of person with HIV/AIDS due to non-fulfillment or improper implementation of professional duties.

The Senate members said that the measure will allow adopt effective measures on preventing spread of HIV and strengthen responsibility of medical employees for adherence to preventive rules.

Senators also considered several documents directed at improvement of judicial-legal activity. In particular, they approved the law “On introduction of changes to Criminal Code”, which is directed at further improvement of punishment for committed crimes at mitigating circumstances.

The law “On introduction of amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility” was also approved after discussions. The law is directed at preventing anti-social behave of under aged persons and sets administrative responsibility of parents or other responsible people of restaurants, cafes, bards, discos, cinema, computer rooms, and other public places for allowing underage people to visit these places without parent or persons, replacing parents.
