Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-second plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On ratification of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan on cooperation in the military-technical field (Islamabad, on 3 March 2022)" was considered.

During the discussion, the senators noted that the friendly ties between the Uzbek and Pakistani peoples have deep historical roots.

At present, they have become a solid foundation for the development of mutually beneficial and fruitful cooperation between the two states, based on mutual trust and high respect.

It was noted that the main goal of the Agreement is to further develop cooperation in the military-technical field between the two countries on the basis of the principle of equality and mutual interests.

The senators highly appreciated the significance of the Agreement submitted for ratification, noting that cooperation between Uzbekistan and Pakistan in the military-technical field serves to further increase the defensive potential of the armed forces of the two states and strengthen the foundations of regional security.

The senators stressed that the adoption of the Agreement would give a new impetus to the development of bilateral relations and serve to further strengthen the strategic partnership between the states.

The law was approved by the senators.
