Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Senate of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan approved the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On banks and banking activities” in the new edition.

According to the Law, the list of operations carried out by banks has been supplemented by a number of new operations.

In particular, operations such as buying and selling precious metal coins, issuing, using and redeeming electronic money.

In order to protect the rights of creditors and depositors, the Law also establishes norms regarding activities prohibited or restricted for banks.

The approved Law will enter into force after its signing by the President and publication in the prescribed manner.
