Seminar "Enhancement of Environmental Protection Measures in the Oil/Gas Industry of the Central Asia"
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- EU-funded INOGATE project "Enhancement of Environmental Protection Measures in the Oil/Gas Industry of the Central Asia" to hold seminar in Tashkent.

On 19 April 2010 a seminar on "Clean production technology in the oil and gas industry" will be held at the State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan involving international experts, officials from State Committee for Nature Protection of the Republic of Uzbekistan, JSC "Uzbekneftegaz" and other local and international stakeholders cooperating with this European Union-funded INOGATE Programme project "Enhancement of Environmental Protection Measures in the Oil/Gas Industry of the Central Asia".

This event will provide an excellent opportunity for all participants to get acquainted with the European Environmental Technologies Action Plan and Eco – innovation, Cleaner Production Concept and its benefits for oil and gas industry and the European approaches for transfer of clean products area. Other specific areas to be considered during the workshop will cover the implementation of renewable energies within Europe, technology areas of clean production and its providers in Europe and Uzbekistan.

One of the longest running and successful technical assistance programmes of the EU, the INOGATE Programme has been supporting enhanced energy cooperation with Partner Countries since 1996. INOGATE actively supports the convergence of energy markets, enhancement of security of supply, diversification of energy sources (especially towards renewable energies) and energy efficiency, as well as on the need for furthering investments in these areas.
