SEG and GRDC improve the efficiency of engineering and geological services of oil and gas companies in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A scientific and practical conference was held in Tashkent on new approaches in geological research and efficient development of hydrocarbon deposits. More than 120 oil and gas industry specialists took part in it.

The conference, organized with the assistance of SEG and the GRDC Science and Technology Center, was hosted by O’ZLITINEFTGAZ JSC and Rock Flow Dynamics, a company specializing in oil and gas field development simulation software. The conference set new vectors for the development of geological and hydrodynamic management, using high-tech software and hardware systems.

“The oil and gas industry is the foundation of the country’s economic independence, and the foundation of the oil and gas industry is exploration and field development. It so happened that in Uzbekistan there is a need for additional exploration of previously developed deposits. We, as a relatively young company, have already faced the need to intensify our work on refining reserves. Therefore, SEG is open to new solutions in the field of improving the efficiency of geological exploration. The end result depends on the work in this direction – the quantity and quality of the extracted minerals,” said Tulkin Yusupov, Executive Director of SEG.

The goal of SEG and GRDC is the complete digitalization of the oil field, the creation of its digital twin, which would reflect the ongoing processes both underground (production, drilling, waterflooding, etc.) and above ground (collection, preparation, transportation of hydrocarbons, injection working agent).

“The development of relevant geological and hydrodynamic models of fields using a modern software package allows you to make informed decisions when developing geological and technical measures, predict various scenarios and strategies for field reconstruction, track the trend in changes in reservoir energy depending on the levels of fluid withdrawals and its compensation during the injection of a working agent, as well as many other technological and technical processes that allow achieving a positive economic result for the SEG group,” said Azizbek Nazarov, CEO of GRDC.

Since its founding in 2019, GRDC has been a key partner of Rock Flow Dynamics in Uzbekistan and has the privileged right to sell the company’s flagship product - the tNavigator 3D geological and hydrodynamic modeling software package. In addition, GRDC is the first and so far the only scientific and technological center in Uzbekistan that uses this software to develop actual models of oil and gas fields of the SEG group.
