Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Central Bank of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with the Secretary General of the General Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBFI) Abdelil Belatik.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects for cooperation in the implementation of Islamic finance. It was noted that in recent years there has been a significant increase in the interest of traditional banks in entering the market of Islamic financial products.
Following the meeting, CIBFI expressed its readiness to provide comprehensive assistance in the introduction of Islamic finance in the banking sector of Uzbekistan.
The Council of Islamic Banks and Financial Institutions (CIBFI) is an international non-profit organization affiliated with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. It was created on the initiative of the Islamic Development Bank and key world Islamic financial institutions.
