SDC considers 4 cases of violation of antimonopoly laws in 1H
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State Demonopolization Committee (SDC) of Uzbekistan considered four cases of illegal use of the results of intellectual activity and related means of individualization of legal entities and products.

The committee said the case was opened for violation of antimonopoly laws by individual entrepreneur Fariddin Tadjibaev, who illegally used BETA ALGORITM trade mark, registered for BETA ALGORITM, in packing of tea. The committee said it gave corresponding order, which was fully fulfilled by violator.

Individual entrepreneur Alikhodjaeva R.U., rendering wedding services, addressed to the committee on unfair competition from individual entrepreneur Petrova E.V. Individual entrepreneur Petrova E.V. was using Brilliant trade mark, which was registered to Alikhodjaeva R.U. The committee opened the case of the issue and ordered Petrova to stop use of the trademark.

UzCarlsberg JV, beer producer, applied to the committee with the claim that mini beer shop of Navoi Mining and Smelting Combine (NGMK) was using their special bottles in beer production. The investigation showed that NGMK’s shop only produces beer on tap and the committee closed the case against NGMK.

The committee reviewed the application of ASIA KAND JV, producers of chewing gums. ASIA KAND JV said NUR EFSHAN JV, another producer of chewing gums under Mango trademark, is using analogous trade mark. ASIA KAND JV uses patented trademark Tango.

The investigation revealed that Mango trade mark was patented in line with the legislation of Uzbekistan and the committee directed corresponding letter to ASIA KAND JV on the results of preliminary review.
