SCO Secretary-General begins visit to Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — From 4 to 7 March, the Secretary-General of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), Nurlan Yermekbayev, will visit Uzbekistan as part of his tour across Central Asian countries.
According to the SCO press service, the visit’s program includes meetings with the country’s leadership and representatives of the foreign ministry. Additionally, Yermekbayev will participate in roundtable discussions at leading analytical centers, as well as a number of public events.
Following his visit to Uzbekistan, the SCO Secretary-General will travel to Tajikistan (on 14–15 March) and then to Kyrgyzstan (on 17–19 March). Earlier, in January and February, he visited Russia, Belarus, and India. Further visits to other SCO member states are planned.
It is worth noting that the SCO Heads of State Council meeting is scheduled to take place in China in late August to early September this year.
