The Council of the Heads of States of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) signed the a joint communique on the results of their summit in Astana, Kazakhstan.
Along with the creation of conditions for mutual trade and investments, the Prime Ministers called to undertake measures to ensure energy security, deepen interaction in customs control, as well as rational use of water resources.
The communique also included decisions of the SCO premiers of the budget of the organization for next year and updated edition of the plan of measures on execution of programme on multilateral trade-economic cooperation, Kazinform reported.
The SCO Prime Ministers confirmed the importance of interaction in prevention of catastrophes and fight with their consequences. They also vowed to organize the agriculture ministries meeting to develop single approaches in strengthening food security.
The SCO Customs bodies’ heads signed a protocol on exchange of information on movement of energy resources, the report said.
The SCO Prime Ministers will hold their next meeting in China in 2009.
