Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4-5 May 2023, in the city of Panaji of the Republic of India, a delegation of Uzbekistan led by Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhtiyor Saidov took part in a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the member states of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.

“Together with our colleagues from India, Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, China, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, we held a fruitful meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in Goa. In preparation for the SCO summit considered a broad agenda, including issues of ensuring peace and stability, supporting sustainable development, expanding cooperation and much more,” said Saidov.

In accordance with the agenda of the meeting, the heads of the foreign ministries held a thorough exchange of views on topical regional and international issues.

The parties discussed the preparations for the SCO summit meeting, which will be held in New Delhi on 4-5 July 2023.

During the meeting, issues of admission of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Belarus as SCO member states were discussed.

As a result of the meeting, 14 decisions were made and memorandums were signed on granting the Republic of Maldives, the Republic of the Union of Myanmar, the United Arab Emirates and the State of Kuwait the status of SCO Dialogue Partner.
