The Russian delegation is led by First Deputy Defence Minister Alexander Kolmakov.

According to information of the press service of the Tajik Defence Ministry, the signing of an Agreement on "cooperation between the defence ministries of the SCO member countries is provided for by the results of the meeting. The Agreement "will map out the main areas of military cooperation within the organisation in countering new threats and challenges as well as insurance of regional security".

The SCO includes China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. India, Iran, Mongolia and Pakistan have the observer status at the organisation, Itar-Tass reported.
