SCO-2022 showed the world a new Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Pragmatic, prudent, looking to the future. Perhaps this is the most logical path for the country now. The program of Uzbekistan is reflected in the program article of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, which he wrote for the SCO summit. The country is interested not only in stability and infrastructure projects, but also in the territorial integrity of its neighbors. All conflicts are supposed to be resolved peacefully.

The theme of Afghanistan occupies a special place in the article. Despite Kabul’s statements, an international terrorist organization is still strong there, which has a wide field for spreading radical ideas. Russia, Iran, China and all of Central Asia are also interested in resolving the Afghan crisis. Uzbekistan offers to extend a helping hand to Afghanistan, to help the socio-economic growth of the country.

Uzbekistan is going to implement all its peace initiatives as a mediator, having acted as such for Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, Pakistan and India. And given that the leaders of Turkey, Russia and Iran will be present at the summit, decisions are quite possible that will help reduce tension in the region.

A new milestone in relations with China. A tripartite agreement on the construction of the Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan-China railway was signed in Samarkand. Already in 2023, the creation of a feasibility study will be completed. The railway will become a grandiose global mega-project "One Belt - One Road", which will connect trade routes from China to the EU.

In addition, the most important strategic agreements were signed.

A memorandum in the field of "green" development, a memorandum on strengthening cooperation in the field of the digital economy, the development of minerals, on establishing partnerships between the regions of China and Uzbekistan.

The results of the SCO-2022 for Uzbekistan are the reformatting of the country’s international and economic policy. Integration processes based on peace negotiations, the status of a mediator country and a friend for the countries of Central Asia and the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, Uzbekistan is becoming an important partner of China.
