S.C. Certsign S.R.L. introduces digital tachograph system in Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- S.C. Certsign S.R.L. (Romania) will introduces digital tachograph system in Uzbekistan by the end of 2010.

National Center on normative-technical supply of development of automobile and river transport under the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport signed agreement on introduction of the system in Uzbekistan with the Romanian company.

The agreement was signed in order to implement resolution of Oliy Majlis of Uzbekistan from29 August 1998 “On accession to European agreement, related to work of transport crew, carrying out international automobile transportation”. The agreement was signed in Geneva on 1 July 1970.

On 16 June 2006, the amendment 5 to the agreement entered into force, which obliges non-EU states to introduce digital tachographs within four years.

In line with the agreement, S.C. Certsign S.R.L. will supply 5,000 digital tachographs and ensure personalization of cards by the end of 2010.

A tachograph is a device that records a vehicle's speed over time. Usually fitted to lorries behind the speedometer, a tachograph records the lorry's speed and whether it is moving or stationary.
