Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 8 May, the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Kongratbai Sharipov held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Uzbekistan Yousef Salah Al Gahrah Al Otaibi.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues of further expanding ties between higher educational institutions of the two countries, improving the quality of teaching the Arabic language in a number of universities in Uzbekistan, as well as increasing the opportunities for Uzbek students to study at leading universities in Saudi Arabia on the basis of grants.

The ambassador noted that Saudi Arabia is ready to consider and implement proposals to enhance areas and forms of cooperation with higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan.

The cooperation of the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies with the King Salman International Academy of the Arabic Language was also noted.
