Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Saudi Arabia is interested in attracting medical specialists from Uzbekistan. This was reported by Dunyo news agency.

A meeting was held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Saudi Arabia with a group of Uzbek doctors working in Saudi Arabia.

Currently, about 20 Uzbek doctors specializing in various fields work in the southeastern regions of Saudi Arabia. Most of them live with their families. Their working and living conditions are satisfactory. Uzbek doctors are respected both in medical institutions and among the population.

Local clinics and agencies show great interest in Uzbekistan, its people, history and culture. It was noted that there are ample opportunities for mutually beneficial cooperation in medicine.

The meeting participants discussed healthcare reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan, support for medical workers, the creation of new educational institutions and jobs, increasing the role of women in society and other issues.

Diplomats spoke about measures to develop cooperation in promising sectors with Saudi Arabia, including the implementation of large investment projects, medical activities and the protection of the rights and interests of compatriots. It was decided to create a special group called “Doctors of Uzbekistan” on the Telegram social network to maintain contact with Uzbek doctors in Saudi Arabia.

Taking into account the fact that the working conditions and wages of medical workers in Saudi Arabia correspond to international standards, as well as the relatively low tuition fees in Uzbekistan, it is proposed to effectively use the opportunities to attract Saudi youth to Uzbek educational institutions.
