Reports surfaced last week that the Brazilian’s position was under threat, goal.com reported.

"Mr. Dos Anjos, as well as assistant coach Nasser Al Gohar and general manager Fahad Al-Mossaybeeh have been summoned and extensive discussions were held," Saudi Arabia FA vice-president Nawaf bin-Faysal said to reporters.

"After assessing the last outing as well with the players, a decision to reshuffle the squad and playing system levels has been taken and agreed by Mr. Dos Anjos," Nawaf said.

"We are hoping to see positive results in this crucial phase - the upcoming friendly games ahead of June’s World Cup qualifier against Lebanon.

"I can confirm for the time being is that the head coach has our full support and backing in this decisive phase," he added.
