The participants of the championship will compete for victory in sports sambo, martial sambo and women’s sambo, UzA reported.

On the first day of the event, Uzbekistan athlete Shavkat Jurayev won silver medal, and his other compatriots Azamat Turdanov, Shuhrat Babayev, Ugiljan Ruzmetova, Sohiba Eshtemirova and Obida Alladustova won bronze medals.

Uzbekistan has previously hosted six continental championships, two world youth championships and one each veterans, martial sambo and sambo stars championships.

At the Asian open championship in June, Uzbek sambo wrestlers won 18 gold, 2 silver and 12 bronze medals, occupying the first place among teams from over 20 countries.
