SamAvto plans to produce 2,650 vehicles in 2011
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Samarkand Automobile Plant – SamAvto LLC – is planning to produce 2,650 vehicles in 2011, of which 850 are lorries and 1,800 are buses, deputy director-general of enterprise Bakhodir Suleymanov said.

Suleymanov underlined that enterprises of Uzbekistan localized over 180 spare parts for the plant. The company purchased components for 4.5 billion soums this year. In 2012, it is planned to increase the volume up to 5.2 billion soums, he added.

Bakhodir Suleymanov said that in line with the localization programme, the company actively cooperates with many enterprises, which produce spare parts and components. He said that these enterprises produce seats for passengers, special bodies, equipment, batteries, and others.

He said that the company also cooperates with Uz-Dong Ju Co, Uz-Tong Hong Co, UzKodji, DAZ, Idas Electornics, and others.

Samarkand Automobile Plant was founded in 1995 and it started to produce buses and lorries in March 1999.

In 2006, the plant was reorganized and it started to cooperate with the Japanese firms – Itochu and Isuzu. Soon, the enterprise started to produce Isuzu buses and lorries. In the end of 2009, SamAvt started to produce trucks of German company MAN.

Bakhodir Suleymanov underlined that for last four years, the enterprise produced 7,500 vehicles, including 5,200 buses and 2,300 lorries. The plant realizes its products in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan.
