“Samarkand Nohat Shurak” Granted Geographical Indication Status
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ministry of Justice has officially registered “Samarkand Nohat Shurak” as a geographical indication, adding it to the national registry. This was announced by the press service of the Samarkand regional administration.
The official certificate of registration was presented to the acting governor of the region, Adiz Boboev.
A geographical indication is a form of intellectual property that certifies a product possesses unique qualities and characteristics attributable to its origin in a specific region. These attributes are shaped by local natural conditions, traditions, and the historical and cultural features of regional production methods.
