Samarkand International Airport serves more than 1.01 million passengers in 2023

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Samarkand International Airport served more than 1.01 million passengers for the first time in 2023. This is 104.9% or 517,521 more passengers than the previous record year of 2022. This was reported by the press service of the airport.

Significant growth occurred in international transportation (+106.4%). Success is associated with developing cooperation with current airlines and attracting new partners.

In 2023, 9 new airlines, including 5 foreign ones, began flying from Samarkand airport.

The greatest demand was for international flights, especially to Moscow, Istanbul, St. Petersburg, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Domestic traffic volumes also increased, reaching 92,380 passengers (+91.2%), with the most popular destination being Tashkent.

The airport has expanded its route network, serving flights to 7 domestic and 21 international destinations, including new flights to Tel Aviv, Urumqi, Jeddah, Kuwait, Izmir, Mineralnye Vody, Ufa, Samara and Urgench.
