The event was organized by the UNDP’s “Local Governance Support Project: Participation and Partnership”. It was attended by representatives of ministries and departments, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan, tourism firms and private businesses.

Zaamin district of Jizzakh region is one of the most pictorial places of Uzbekistan. The district has all conditions for organization of rest and rehabilitation of tourists.

The event discussed opportunities of the region in tourism sector and creation of tourism infrastructure in Zaamin. It was said that new guesthouses and service points were opened and special cultural events were developed for tourists based on local traditions and customs.

Akmal Bozorov, representative of UNDP, said that tourism firms and local businesses participate at the proect. In the result, tourism infrastructure is developing in the district, which created new jobs and improve well-being of population.

At the meeting, the roundtable participants exchanged opinion on further development of tourism in Uzbekistan.
