Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — OpenAI has unveiled the next generation of its artificial intelligence model — GPT-5, which, according to the developers, represents a significant breakthrough in the evolution of ChatGPT.

The company highlights that GPT-5 combines and surpasses all previous OpenAI achievements in accuracy, speed, logical reasoning, context recognition, structured thinking, and solving complex tasks.

“This is such an impressive experience that going back to older models is no longer desirable. If GPT-3 was like a school student, and GPT-4 was like a college student, then GPT-5 resembles an expert with a doctorate degree,” said OpenAI CEO Sam Altman.

The developers emphasize that the new version fabricates facts less often and more frequently openly admits when it doesn’t have an answer. Special attention was given to programming capabilities: during a demonstration, GPT-5 created a complete educational website for learning French with an interactive game in just a few seconds.

Starting August 7, GPT-5 is available to all ChatGPT users and will fully replace the previous GPT-4o model. Free account holders will also be able to use the new model but with limits on the number of requests.

OpenAI last introduced a new model — ChatGPT-4 Omni — in June 2024.
