Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Entrepreneur Salim Abduvaliev, known as "Salimbay", was sentenced to 6 years in prison, the press service of Tashkent courts said.
The verdict was pronounced by the Mirabad District Criminal Court at a closed court hearing.
“Salimbay” was found guilty under Part 1 of Article 248 of the Criminal Code (illegal trafficking in firearms, ammunition, main parts of firearms, explosives, explosives or explosive devices) and was sentenced to six years in prison.
At the same time, the court released him from criminal liability under Part 1 of Article 246 (smuggling) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan due to the expiration of the period for criminal prosecution; this part of the criminal case was terminated without resolving the issue of guilt in accordance with paragraph 1 of Part 1 of Article 84 of the Criminal Procedure Code .
