Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Saida Mirziyoyeva, Assistant to the President of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO). This was reported by Saida Mirziyoyeva on her Telegram channel.

During the meeting, specific steps being taken by Uzbekistan towards joining the WTO were discussed. The significant progress Uzbekistan has made in harmonizing its national legislation with WTO norms and rules, as well as other positive changes, was highlighted.

Uzbekistan aims to join the WTO before the 14th Ministerial Conference, which will be held in Cameroon in 2026, as stated by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khojayev, who led the country’s delegation at the eighth meeting of the Working Group on Uzbekistan’s accession to the WTO.
