Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — A representative office of Russian Railways (RZD) will soon open in Uzbekistan, marking a continued strengthening of cooperation between Russia and Uzbekistan in the transportation sector.

RZD Chairman Oleg Belozerov participated in Russian-Uzbekistani negotiations in Tashkent, where several high-level meetings took place.

The Russian delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Vitaly Savelyev, met with President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Abdullah Aripov, and Minister of Transport Ilkhom Makhkamov.

The discussions focused on the joint implementation of international infrastructure projects, development of passenger transportation, expansion of logistics services, digitalization, educational programs, and humanitarian cooperation.

One of the key outcomes was the resumption of train services between Tashkent and Moscow. The train will operate weekly starting September 24, and from December 15, it will run twice a week.

Additionally, options for tourist routes and the launch of an expedited refrigerated container train, “Agroexpress,” for cargo transportation were discussed.
