Russia’s northern capital invites tourists from Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  Saint Petersburg, one of the world’s most beautiful cities, offers its visitors a variety of ways to spend an unforgettable time. Every visitor can find something unique, combining classic tourist attractions with new destinations that have recently appeared on the map.

Tourists usually begin their acquaintance with Saint Petersburg in the city’s historic center, home to architectural monuments spanning three centuries, from Petrine Baroque to Northern Art Nouveau. Visitors are also drawn to the city’s rich museums and vibrant cultural life. One of Saint Petersburg’s highlights is the State Hermitage Museum, Russia’s oldest and most famous collection of foreign art, standing on par with the Louvre, the Met, and the British Museum.

To continue their journey through imperial Saint Petersburg, visitors should explore the palace and park complexes — Peterhof, Tsarskoye Selo, Pavlovsk, and Gatchina. Tsarskoye Selo, a favorite residence of the Romanov dynasty, is particularly notable.

Here, visitors can find the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum, where the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin studied, and the magnificent Catherine Palace, famous for its Amber Room. Many dream of seeing this magical interior, often referred to as the "eighth wonder of the world."

The extensive range of travel opportunities in Saint Petersburg doesn’t end there. Each year, new routes open up, showcasing the city’s modern identity, complete with creative spaces and new cultural and tourist sites. Unique tourism options are also flourishing in the city. Travelers can take unusual tours of industrial sites, spend a weekend at a wellness resort, or discover new culinary experiences.

Saint Petersburg can serve as an ideal starting point for exploring other regions of Russia. The "Two Cities — A Million Impressions" project helps plan unique routes combining visits to both Saint Petersburg and Moscow. For those seeking the beauty of northern nature and the wealth of history and culture, the "Silver Ring of Russia" offers journeys through surrounding regions.

For event organizers, Saint Petersburg boasts unique exhibition and congress venues, a wide selection of hotels, well-developed transportation links, and numerous guided tour programs. Hundreds of business forums of various scales are held each year in Russia’s Northern Capital. Saint Petersburg also has significant experience hosting international rotating events, with the city’s Congress and Exhibition Bureau actively promoting it as a prime business tourism destination.

More information about Saint Petersburg’s latest tourism offerings can be found at the city’s stand at the Tashkent International Tourism Fair "Silk Road Tourism 2024," which will be held from 21 to 23 November in Tashkent.
