Russians in Uzbekistan vote for Putin
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Citizens of Russia, who live or temporarily in Uzbekistan, participated in elections of the Russian President and majority of them casted their votes for Vladimir Putin.

Russian Embassy in Uzbekistan said that Russian citizens voted for the President of Russia at the election point No. 5485, which was organized at the embassy in Tashkent.

Some 2,949 Russian citizens participated in elections, including those who casted their votes earlier on 19, 25 and 26 February in Almalyk, Andijan, Zarafshan, Navoi, Samarkand, Ferghana and Chirchiq cities.

In the result of voting, Vladimir Putin collected 2,386 votes, while Vladimir Zhirinovski – 71 votes, and Gennadiy Zyuganov – 249 votes.

Sergei Mironov received support of 43 voters and Mikhail Prohorov collected 177 votes at the elections, conducted in Uzbekistan.

The embassy said that 22 ballots were invalid and one ballot was not in voting urn.
