Russian Pedagogical Universities are actively developing cooperation with universities in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Pedagogical universities subordinate to the Ministry of Education of Russia are strengthening interaction with universities in Uzbekistan. This academic year, about 1.5 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan study at Russian pedagogical universities, and about 3 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan study at colleges. This was told by the Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Denis Gribov at a working meeting of the heads of branches of Russian universities in the Republic of Uzbekistan, which was held at the MGIMO branch in Tashkent. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

Deputy Minister of Education of Russia Denis Gribov noted that in recent years, interaction between Russian pedagogical universities and Uzbek higher educational institutions has been strengthening, and named the key areas of cooperation between the two countries in the field of education.

“Achievements in the field of Russian higher education turned out to be in high demand in the republic and, as a result, found a decent demand among Uzbek youth. Today, pedagogical universities in Russia and Uzbekistan organize joint educational programs and events, conduct advanced training and retraining of Uzbek teachers, exchange students and teachers,” Denis Gribov explained.

The Deputy Minister of Education said that cooperation with Uzbekistan is actively developing to promote the Russian language. Such Russian-Uzbek projects as "Great!", “Malysh” (“Mittivoi”), “The Power of the Mind”, which expand the access of citizens of the republic to high-quality teaching in Russian.

According to Denis Gribov, the successful implementation of these humanitarian projects was facilitated by the opening in 2020 in Tashkent of a branch of the Russian State Pedagogical University named after A.I. Herzen.

He said that about 1.5 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan are studying in Russian pedagogical universities, subordinated to the Ministry of Education of Russia, this academic year.

“There is a great interest in the republic in Russian educational programs of secondary vocational education. This academic year, about 3 thousand citizens of Uzbekistan are studying in Russian colleges,” said the Deputy Minister of Education of Russia.

Denis Gribov emphasized that today the Ministry of Education of Russia and the educational authorities of Uzbekistan are joining forces to create a single space for the professional training of modern innovative teachers.

Also, the Deputy Minister of Education of Russia took part in the round table on improving the work of branches of Russian universities in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Denis Gribov made proposals for the development of branches of Russian universities in Uzbekistan and the translation of the best practices of the system of secondary vocational education institutions into the system of vocational education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, as well as for the opening of branches of Russian colleges.
