Russian language ambassadors organized an expedition to Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian language ambassadors organized an expedition to Uzbekistan. Volunteers conduct classes in educational institutions of Samarkand, Denau and Ferghana. Students and schoolchildren are introduced to Russian culture and traditions.

Classes in educational institutions of Samarkand, Denau and Ferghana are conducted by two groups of volunteers of the Russian Language Ambassadors in the World program. Project of the State Institute of Russian Language named after. A.S. Pushkin is implemented in the interests of promoting the Russian language, Russian education and science both abroad and in Russia. The publication “Eurasia Today” and the international network TV BRICS are information partners of the program.

There are now two experienced ambassadors in Denau - Idelia Akhmetshina and Olga Solovey. Under the leadership of the Deputy Director of the Center for Linguodidactics, Language Testing and Migration Policy Promotion, Ekaterina Shevchenko, volunteers have already organized meetings with students of the Denau Institute of Entrepreneurship and Pedagogy. The girls talked about their hometowns of Kazan and Syktyvkar, worked with students on diction and pronunciation using tongue twisters, and held a quiz on their knowledge of unusual facts about Russia.

One of the areas of the program is also to introduce volunteers to the sights and customs of the host countries. In Uzbekistan, the ambassadors visited the Said Atalyk madrasah, the mausoleum in the Surkhandarya region, and also saw the beautiful mountain waterfall Sangardak. “Since 2015, I dreamed of going on an expedition to Uzbekistan, and now the dream has come true! This is an amazing country with a rich history, unique architecture, its own customs and traditions,” Idelia Akhmetshina shared her emotions.

In Ferghana, volunteers will conduct classes for students of Ferghana State University and students of school No. 10, as well as children from school No. 6 in the city of Margilan. Lessons are held in a playful way, these include various quests, master classes and creative tasks. When preparing them, the level of Russian language proficiency is taken into account.

The educational and educational project “Ambassadors of the Russian Language in the World” is being implemented with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation. Volunteers, students, graduate students and young professionals aged 18 to 35 years are selected and trained according to a special program, including methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language, classes in pedagogy, game technology, the basics of diplomacy and other disciplines. Over the 8 years of the project, more than 48 thousand people from 19 countries of the near and far abroad became its participants.
