Russian Prime Minister Victor Zubkov said investments of Russia into Uzbekistan can reach US$2 billion, Russian First Channel reported on Friday, 2 November.
Prime Minister Victor Zubkov arrived in Tashkent on Thursday on working visit. Mr Zubkov will attend the Council heads of governments of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
Russian official met his Uzbek counterpart Shavkat Mirziyayev. Their discussions focused on economic cooperation between states.
Zubkov said: "Trade turnover [between Russia and Uzbekistan] reached US$2 billion last year. And it is growing. This year it grew by over 40%. I think our investments [into Uzbekistan] can reach US$2 billion in near future. This is good figure. I think we have something to talk with you."
