Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Russian side notes the successful development of bilateral trade and economic relations with Uzbekistan, the information and press department of the Russian Foreign Ministry said, RIA Novosti reported.

The parties plan to develop cooperation in agriculture, the food industry, road construction engineering and pharmaceuticals as a matter of priority.

“Despite the difficulties arising from the imbalances created by the West in the global economy through the introduction of illegitimate barriers, bilateral trade and economic ties are successfully developing. This is indicated by the data on trade turnover for 2022 – US$8.7 billion (compared to 2021, the growth was 26%),” the message says.

It is noted that in the current year, the positive dynamics of mutual trade is maintained.

“Thus, only in January-February of this year, mutual trade grew by 4.2% (up to US$1.2 billion). Current joint projects are being implemented in full," the statement says.

The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the parties note the effectiveness of the established project office of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia and the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan in supporting and implementing initiatives in the field of industry and trade, which formed a "portfolio" of 46 new joint projects.
