Russian delegation visits Uzbekistan to discuss business cooperation
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of businessmen from Russia’s Perm Region has visited Tashkent last week. The goal of the visit was to develop trade and economic cooperation between Uzbek and Russian businessmen, as well as discussing prospects for bilateral cooperation.

The delegation included representatives from Russian companies involved in the spheres of oil and gas, energy, chemicals, construction, timber processing, furniture production, fruit and vegetables processing, bakery, as well as in production of spare parts for home appliances.

An official from the Perm regional chamber of commerce and trade, Tamara Kapustina, said that the industrial sector was developing well in Perm Region. Several companies produce equipment used in the oil and gas industry. The sector is well developed in Uzbekistan, and Russian businessmen are interested in establishing contacts to implement joint projects.

"We are also interested in cooperation with your country in imports. We appreciate your cotton, textile, fruit and vegetables. Companies are planning to establish contacts with their Uzbek counterparts, and we are helping them to find partners," Kapustina said.

As part of the visit, a cooperation fair was held. During the fair, businessmen from the two countries discussed opportunities for joint projects.
