Russian consumers cut spending on clothing and footwear in 2022

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- According to a study by the Yula ad service and the A2: Research analytical agency, 59% of Russian consumers reduced spending on clothing and footwear in the second half of 2022, RBC writes.

About 44% of respondents have reduced their spending on clothing and footwear by 20-30%, about 15% have reduced spending in this category by 30-40%, and another 15% of respondents said they have reduced spending by 10-20%.

Almost half of consumers switched to cheaper alternatives. 51% of respondents began to buy clothes and shoes less frequently. Every tenth refused to purchase clothing and footwear in the high-price segment.

At the same time, 45% of respondents are convinced that it is impossible to save on some wardrobe items. About 24% believe that shoes are included in the category of such wardrobe items.
