Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan from January to August 2024 increased by 30% compared to 2023, according to the First Deputy Minister of Energy of Russia, Pavel Sorokin.

Speaking at the 22nd session of the cooperation commission between the Federation Council and the Senate of Kazakhstan, Sorokin noted that oil supplies to Uzbekistan have significantly increased this year, and he thanked the Kazakh partners for their constructive approach.

He also reminded that in 2023, the transit of Russian oil through Kazakhstan to China amounted to 10 million tons, expressing confidence that this figure would be achieved again in 2024.

In 2023, Russian oil supplies to Uzbekistan amounted to 154,300 tons, with plans to increase the volume to more than 500,000 tons by the end of 2024.
