Russia can toughen entry rules for CIS citizens this year – Rogozin
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Russian can allow citizens of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) to cross its borders only with international passports already from this year, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin stated on Sunday, 14 April.

Dmitry Rogozin said: “I think in the near future we need to stop the entry to Russia on the documents, which are beyond identification.”

Russian official recalled that in his state of the nation address in December, Russian President Vladimir Putin called for an end to the practice of allowing CIS citizens to enter the Russian territory with only their national (internal) passports by no later than 2015, Russian mass media reported.

Rogozin noted that the Government of Russia is responsible for implementation of the decision and added that it is possible to introduce these measures faster.
