Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 6 August, the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, in collaboration with the Asian Development Bank (ADB), held a roundtable to discuss the results of the project titled “Assessment of the Current State of Professionalization of Public Procurement in Uzbekistan”.

The event was attended by representatives from the ministry, ADB expert Dimitri De Pue, World Bank procurement expert Hoai Van Nguyen, as well as representatives from other relevant ministries and agencies.

During the roundtable, the results of the assessment of the existing training system in public procurement and the level of professionalization of specialists in this field were presented and discussed. Based on the assessment, taking into account the opinions of all participants, directions were identified for developing qualification requirements for specialists responsible for public procurement. Additionally, measures were proposed to improve the training system and public procurement processes overall.

At the conclusion of the event, the parties agreed to continue and further develop mutually beneficial cooperation in this area.
