Representatives of Central Bank, Microcredit Bank, microcredit organizations, credit unions and other interested sides participated the roundtable, which was organized by the joint project of Central Bank and UNDP “Support microfinance sector development”.

One of the priorities of the project is to assist the Government of Uzbekistan in improving legislative base in microfinance sphere. The project specialists and consultants carried out analysis of microfinance market regulation in Uzbekistan and some foreign countries, as well as implementation of the state programme on microfinance development in Uzbekistan. In the result of carried out work, the project developed proposals on introducing changes and amendments to legislative base.

The event was aimed at developing and improving legislative base in microfinance for further boosting microfinance in Uzbekistan. During the event, the project specialists presented proposals on improving legislation and carried out work on development of the second phase of the State Programme of microfinance development.

The project staff also presented platforms on management of social impact, structure of national report on state of sector development. Participants discussed other issues, related to microfinance sector.

The organizers believe that the roundtable serves as platform for discussion of actual issues in microfinance sector, as well as receive feedback on conducted work within the project from market participants.
