Rosatom presents advanced nuclear technologies at the International Exhibition INNOPROM. Central Asia

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24-26 April, Tashkent hosts the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM. Central Asia. This year, Rosatom State Corporation presented promising technologies and products in three main blocks: Sustainable Energy System and Environmental Solutions, Digital Future, and Nuclear Medicine and Technologies.

At the stand of Rosatom, a block dedicated to nuclear technologies in healthcare occupies a special place. Nuclear medicine is a key area in the diagnosis and treatment of not only oncological, but also rheumatological, endocrinological and other diseases. That is why nuclear medicine is considered a demanded and socially significant industry.

Rosatom State Corporation is now one of the five largest global suppliers of raw isotope products used in the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases. At the beginning of 2023, in Obninsk, home of the world’s first nuclear power plant, construction began on a new Rosatom plant for the production of medical isotope products, which will become the leading manufacturing enterprise in Europe producing radiopharmaceuticals for an expanded range. At the same time, Russian nuclear power plants are increasing production capacities for the production of the most popular isotopes for the production of radiopharmaceuticals: iodine-131, lutetium-177, molybdenum-99, samarium-153 using power channel reactors.

In addition, Rosatom is a manufacturer of medical equipment for radiation and brachytherapy, implements projects for the construction of nuclear medicine centers and builds a network of multifunctional centers for the processing and sterilization of medical devices and food products in Russia and abroad, including in Uzbekistan. At the exhibition, Rosatom presented the Brachium gamma-therapy complex, designed for the complex treatment of oncological diseases of the pelvic organs, breast, esophagus, nasopharynx and oral cavity using contact radiation therapy. The complex is already operating in a number of Russian medical institutions, its price does not depend on the volatility of the exchange rate. At the same time, Brachium has not one, but two radiation sources to choose from (Co-62 and Ir-192). It is equipped with the most advanced dosimetry control system, which reduces the possibility of error, has applicators compatible with imaging systems, CT, MRI, as well as a modern three-dimensional radiation therapy planning system. The latter allows using a computer to create a 3D model of a tumor for more accurate targeting by radiation.

In addition to Brachium, the booth presents a unique Russian device for nitric oxide therapy for adults and children, including newborns with precapillary pulmonary hypertension - the Tianox device.

“Today, Rosatom offers a full range of healthcare services. These are the isotope complex, the production of radiopharmaceuticals, the production of high-tech medical equipment, the processing of medical devices and food products using the ionizing radiation method, as well as the construction of medical infrastructure facilities. We are ready to improve the quality and accessibility of nuclear medicine for the citizens of Central Asia by applying the best practices,” said Igor Obrubov, General Director of JSC Rusatom Healthcare.

As for the unit with solutions for the energy industry, the exhibitors drew attention to the simulator for training personnel of energy facilities, digital twins of energy facilities, as well as a new digital product - a model-based design and mathematical modeling environment REPEAT (REal-time Platform for Engineering Automated Technologies). The software product is designed to create mathematical models of complex objects and processes in the energy sector, including the creation of digital twins. This is a fully import-independent development of Rosatom. It implements the ability to develop models of power facilities and processes, create digital twins, design to improve the efficiency of power facilities, reduce the cost of production processes and the number of downtime and incidents, as well as conduct virtual tests of the designed equipment.

According to experts, simulators have proven themselves at nuclear and conventional energy facilities. Such installations make it possible to carry out primary training of specialists from operating organizations of NPPs with a VVER reactor, as well as to train specialists from thermal power plants, thermal power plants, state district power plants, and hydroelectric power plants.

Also in the Digital Future, Rosatom presented services to create a reliable digital infrastructure for industrial enterprises in Central Asia. The digital ecosystem includes developers and integrators of complex IT systems, cloud and infrastructure solutions, telecom operators, as well as an operator and integrator of one of the largest data center networks in Russia.

Comprehensive service based on advanced technologies and many years of experience in operating the most complex engineering facilities.

The booth also provides extensive information on Rosatom’s cooperation with the countries of Central Asia in various areas of green energy, where, in addition to nuclear generation, Rosatom is ready to offer its own solutions in wind energy, energy storage and construction of hydroelectric power plants.
