Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Ambassador of Romania to Uzbekistan, Daniel Cristian Ciobanu, held a meeting with students of Webster University and Tashkent State University of Law. During the discussion, he provided insights into the current state of Romanian-Uzbek relations and their development prospects.

In connection with the 166th anniversary of the unification of the Romanian principalities of Moldova and Wallachia, celebrated on January 24, the ambassador elaborated on the historical significance of this event. He highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral relations, mentioning a series of successful initiatives, including political consultations between the foreign ministries of Romania and Uzbekistan, commission meetings, and official delegation visits.

Ambassador Ciobanu also emphasized the importance of people-to-people diplomacy. He shared his experiences of climbing Mount Bolshoy Chimgan, Hazrat Sultan, and the Pulathan Plateau, as well as his hot air balloon flight marking the 161st anniversary of Romanian diplomacy.

Expressing confidence in the continued strengthening of bilateral cooperation, he reaffirmed Romania’s support for enhancing ties between the European Union and Uzbekistan.
