In preliminary round, Rishod Sobirov defeated Ludovic Chammartin (Switzerland), Hermann Zoungrana (Burkina Faso), Felipe Kitadai (Brazil), Ilgar Mushkiyev (Azerbaijan).

In semifinal bout, Rishod Sobirov faced South Korean Won Jin Kim (South Korea) and claimed a victory with waza-ari and yuko.

Japan’s Hiroaki Hiraoka was opponent of Rishod Sobirov in final and only waza-ari point helped the Uzbek judoka to win his second title.
