Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ethics Committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) fined the head coach of the SKA-Khabarovsk club Sergei Yuran for speaking about the player of the Spartak Moscow Oston Urunov.
Earlier, Sergen Juran said that Urunov, who turned 20 in December, is actually four to five years older. He noted that everyone who is close to Russian football is aware of this.
The Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA) issued a statement in which it demanded an apology from Juran and urged the RFU Ethics Committee to investigate the incident and assess the statements discrediting the association and the player of the Uzbekistan national team.
The RFU Ethics Committee considered the case and decided to punish Sergei Yuran for 250,000 hrubles.
Sergei Yuran told RIA Novosti that he disagrees with the committee’s decision and intends to challenge the verdict, possibly even in the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).
