Economy 29/11/2007 RF exhibition in Tashkent will help promote commercial relations
The exhibition was put on view by the Russian Ministry for Economic Development and Trade and the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Itar-Tass reported. The All-Russia Exhibition Centre reports that it is being held under the watchword: "Russia and Uzbekistan: Strategic Partnership".

It is thematically devoted to innovation and investment ventures in electric energy generation, engineering, aerospace industry and other science intensive sectors.

Taking part in it are Russia’s Altai Territory, Volgograd, Leningrad, Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saratov, Sverdlovsk, Ulyanovsk, Chelyabinsk, Omsk, Yaroslavl, Penza, Tomsk and Tyumen regions, as well as the Chuvash Republic. The Russian LUKoil Company, the Unified Energy System of Russia Company, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, the Chelyabinsk "Uraltrak" tractor plant, the Vostoklada Plus Plant, the Uralvagonzavod Plant and many other enterprises are displaying their products at the exhibition.

Plans are afoot to hold a Russo-Uzbek Economic Forum at the exhibition, taking part in which will be the heads of different ministries and departments, the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and also the Unions of Industrialists and Businessmen of the two countries.

It is also planned to hold negotiations on different forms of cooperation between the OOO Export Company and the National Uzbekneftegaz Holding. Russian businessmen will hold negotiations with representatives from practically all the major Uzbek oil and gas, petrochemical and chemical complexes.

First Vice-Premier Sergei Ivanov and Uzbek Prime Minister Shavkat Mirziyayev, who is also co-chairman of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, attended the exhibition opening ceremony. The commission is expected to meet in the Uzbek capital during the exhibition period.
