Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 January, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev got acquainted with a presentation on the work done in the field of geology and plans for the future.

Geology is of strategic importance in providing resources for our country’s growing economy. In recent years, 1 trillion soums per year have been allocated to this area, and the necessary conditions are being created. As a result, exploration of 31 thousand square kilometers of new areas was carried out.

Thanks to the opportunities created for the private sector, investors are attracted to the development of deposits. Today, investment projects worth US$1.7 billion are being implemented in the industry.

At the same time, there are many untapped opportunities in the field. The deposits and the scale of their development can be expanded.

The presentation provides information about promising projects and plans for the current year.

The head of our state listened to the report and identified tasks that need to be implemented in the near and long term.

The importance of strategic planning and advanced development in the field is emphasized.

Measures to increase the volume of geological exploration and effective exploitation of identified reserves were discussed.

Tasks have been set to continue to attract foreign technologies and investments into the field, thereby increasing the efficiency of geological exploration and production.

The need to increase coal production by 22 percent was pointed out, taking into account the needs of the population, the social sphere and industries. The issue of processing enrichment waste based on best practices was also touched upon.
