Residents of Tashkent Will Be Able to Track Ambulance Crews Dispatched to Their Calls

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Republican Emergency Medical Care Center of Uzbekistan has launched a pilot project enabling citizens to track in real time the location and estimated arrival time of an ambulance dispatched to their call. The initiative aims to increase transparency in the service’s operations and significantly reduce the workload of dispatchers.

The project was implemented in cooperation with Yandex Uzbekistan, using Yandex Maps technology. After placing a call, patients receive an SMS with a link to a map showing the ambulance’s movement.

In the next stage, users will receive push notifications via Yandex Go with details about the route and estimated arrival time. The information will also be shareable directly with others through the app.

According to the Republican Center, dispatchers across the country handle up to 40,000 calls daily, around 60 percent of which are emergency cases.

“Digitalization makes processes more transparent and convenient for citizens. We expect that the ability to track the ambulance’s route will speed up preparations for its arrival and reduce the burden on operators. At present, the system is available for emergency calls in Tashkent, but we plan to expand it to other regions in the future,” said Abduvoitjon Gafurov, Director of the Republican Emergency Medical Care Center.

The Center will continue to actively introduce digital technologies into the healthcare sector to enhance the quality, accessibility, and efficiency of emergency medical care for all residents of the country.
