RES projects to be implemented in the Bukhara region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Projects in the field of renewable energy sources will be implemented in Bukhara region.

China’s Liaoning Lide Corporation plans to build a 600 MW wind farm in the region.

Company representative Jinming Zhang said in an interview with Uzbekiston 24 TV channel that an agreement on the construction of the station was reached at the Tashkent Investment Forum, which was held on 2-3 May 2024. The project will cost US$720 million, and the Gijduvan district has been chosen as the construction site.

In addition, the Chinese company is currently carrying out a project to extend power transmission lines for 269 km from Bukhara to Samarkand regions.

Voltalia Vice President Yoni Ammar also said in an interview with Uzbekiston 24 that the French company plans to implement two projects in the field of renewable energy sources in the Bukhara region for a total of US$1 billion. 

The first project involves the construction of a hybrid power plant in the Gijduvan region for US$400 million with capacity 400 MW. The second project will cost US$650 million.

In 2022 Voltalia won the tender for the construction of a photovoltaic station with a capacity of 100 MW in Khorezm region. The cost of this project is US$400 million.
