Requirements established for payment system operators and providers to ensure information security in payment systems

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Regulation of the Central Bank "On ensuring information security in payment systems of payment system operators and payment service providers" was approved.

The Regulation establishes the minimum requirements for ensuring the information security of payment system operators and payment service providers in payment systems.

In turn, this document has several objectives, including:

determination of the necessary tasks to ensure information security of information systems and resources of payment system operators and payment service providers;

clarification of the requirements necessary for the implementation of payment system operators and payment service providers to ensure information security when entering, exchanging, processing and storing payment information in payment systems;

prevention of unauthorized changes, information leakage and other negative impacts on payment information of payment system operators and payment service providers;

ensuring information security when providing remote payment services.

The Regulation serves to develop internal rules and procedures for ensuring information security based on the specifics of payment systems.

It should be noted that the document plays an important role in ensuring the required level of information security of payment system operators and payment service providers in payment systems. The regulation came into force on 30 June 2020.
