Republican Conference of UN Volunteers held in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22-24 February, the Republican Conference of UN Volunteers, organized by the UNDP Projects “Assistance to the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Formulating and Implementing the ICT Policy for the Development of Uzbekistan” (ICTP) and “Strengthening the Potential of National Human Rights Institutions of the Republic of Uzbekistan” is conducted in the Tashkent-based Ravshan Hotel.

The conference participants are 50 regional representatives from Ferghana, Andijan, Djizzak, Surkhandarya, Urgench, Navoi and Tashkent.

The conference participants made presentations, which describe their day-to-day activities and highlight special events and campaigns carried out in their respective regions. In particular, they informed about round-table discussions, training courses, charitable events and various campaigns aimed at youth.

The conference aims at introducing regional volunteers to each other, creating synergy from joining efforts, approaches and objectives, developing a unified work concept and identifying joint projects for a nation- wide implementation.

In the course of the conference, the participating volunteers plan to come up with a ideas of how to ensure successful project realization in regions. These ideas will help them to improve their work on the field and attract new volunteers to their lines.

A training course to be conducted for the UN volunteers during the 2-day conference will deal with the main concepts and skills in the project management. Additionally, they will be provided with a practical guidance on the use of the Project Coordination Central Electronic System, OpenGoo, based on Web2 technology.

All conference sessions are held in the interactive form, thus enabling each participant to express his/her own ideas and views on the volunteer movement. Participants work in small groups and plenary sessions, making individual and group presentations.
