Representative of Uzbekistan Awarded the Medal of “Honored Worker of Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan”
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Following the eleventh meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the CIS member states, held on 4 July 2025, in Dushanbe, the Minister of Industry and New Technologies of the Republic of Tajikistan, Sherali Kabir, presented Ilkhom Tuychievich Nematov with the medal “Honored Worker of Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan” in recognition of his significant contribution to the development of international relations in the real economic sector of the Commonwealth countries.
In his welcoming remarks, CIS Deputy Secretary-General Nematov I.T. emphasized that for nearly 35 years, the Commonwealth of Independent States has fulfilled a vital mission of strengthening good-neighborly relations and cooperation among countries across political, economic, humanitarian, and other fields, based on equal partnership and mutual benefit.
Nematov noted that the Council on Industrial Policy has prepared and submitted to the highest CIS bodies a number of key issues related to the development of the mining and metallurgical complex, chemical industry, oil and gas machinery manufacturing, and the use of natural gas as motor fuel. In particular, in 2024, the heads of government of the CIS countries approved the Concept of Cooperation in the Energy Sector and an Action Plan until 2035, aimed at sustainable development of energy potential and fostering productive cooperation in this critical industry.
Special attention was given by Nematov to the Complex of Measures for Attracting and Stimulating Mutual Investments within the CIS until 2030, approved on 29 April 2025, at the CIS Economic Council meeting in Tashkent and developed on the initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev. This document is aimed at improving the investment climate, increasing the inflow of mutual foreign direct investments, and enhancing the efficiency of investment activities in the Commonwealth countries.
The Deputy Secretary-General called on Council members to conduct a thorough analysis of existing opportunities to more effectively utilize industrial potential to ensure sustainable economic growth and improve the living standards of the populations in the CIS countries.
During the meeting, projects of the Concept of Digital Transformation of the Mining and Metallurgical Complex and the corresponding Action Plan were approved, along with consideration of projects for the Concept of Cooperation Development in the Production of Advanced Materials for High-Tech Industrial Sectors and their implementation plan.
Additionally, Council members heard a report from the CIS Executive Committee on the progress of implementing the Concept of Industrial Cooperation Development and the Complex of Measures for its advancement until 2030.
