Remittance turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia grows by 27.81%
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Total volume of money transfers between Uzbekistan and Russia grew by 27.81% year-on-year in the first quarter of 2013 – from US$906 million to US$1.158 billion.

According the Central Bank of Russia, total sum of remittances from Russia to Uzbekistan made up US$1.031 billion soums in January-March 2013 against US$824 million in the first quarter of 2012. The growth rate made up 25.12%.

At the same time, average sum of one operation from Russia to Uzbekistan made up US$513 in the first quarter of 2013 against US$523 in the same period of 2012 (-2%), the regulator said.

The volume of money transfers from Uzbekistan to Russia rose from US$82 million in the first quarter of 2012 to US$112 million in January-March 2013 (+36.58%). The average sum of one transaction grew from US$1,573 to US$1,816 in the reporting period.

Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Ukraine were the leaders on the volume of money transfers with Russia among the CIS states in the first quarter of 2013.

In the reporting period, the volume of remittance turnover between Russia and Tajikistan made up US$771 million (US$617 million in 1Q 2012) and Ukraine – US$673 million (US$574 million).

The Central Bank of Russia monitors such money transfer systems as Anelik, BLIZKO, Coinstar Money Transfer, Contact, InterExpress, Migom, MoneyGram, PrivatMoney, UNIStream, Western Union, Aziya Express, ALLYUR, Blitz, Bystraya Pochta, Zolotaya Korona and LIDER, as well as Pochta Rossii.
